What Coronavirus Means For Your Local Brisbane Dentist

First of all, the team at Central Brisbane Dental just wants to let our past, present and future patients know that with the current Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, safety is our number one priority. In a dental clinic, patient and staff safety has and always will be the number one priority for our business.

How Covid-19 Affects Dental Appointments

All Australian dentists are governed by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and the Dental Board of Australia and are held to the highest infection control standards so we already do things that limit the spread of disease.

Our staff practise good hand hygiene by frequently washing hands or using alcohol based hand sanitiser.

  • Our staff wear gloves during appointments.
  • Our staff wear masks during appointments.

It is safe to see the dentist during this testing time.

When should you avoid a dentist appointment?

In these times, there are cases where you should avoid coming into our clinic.

If you are showing symptoms of Covid-19, we would request that you contact our office to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Symptoms for Covid-19 include:

  • Fever
  • Breathing difficulties such as breathlessness
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Fatigue or tiredness

If you are presenting symptoms of this nature, we recommend you speak with a doctor by telephone and discuss your options. Do not visit a doctor without speaking to them about your symptoms first as if you are infected with Covid-19 your risk of further spreading the disease is very high.

In addition, review the following questions:

  • Have you recently returned from overseas or interstate travel?
  • Have you been in contact with someone who is confirmed or suspected of being infected with Covid-19?
  • Do you have any other symptoms that would normally be present with a cold or flu?
  • Have you been feeling unwell?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, please contact our office to reschedule your dentist appointment as we do not want to risk exposure to Covid-19 for any of our patients and staff.
