Dr Sima Dezfuli
General Dentist
At Central Brisbane Dental, getting the best outcome for your oral health is our number one priority.Dr Sima Dezfuli was born and raised in Iran. The passion for dentistry started to bloom during childhood for her as growing up she visited the dentist’s office many times and was mesmerised by what they do. However, her pathway to becoming a dentist took many turns.
In her early 20s, she immigrated to Canada to pursue her dreams. Living in Halifax for the first five years, she studied Food Science at Dalhousie University where she met her better half. They moved to the west coast of Canada where they both started working. This is when she realised the food industry was not where she wanted to land and thought of going back to school to chase a different career path. At this time, she and her husband lived in Alberta, the oil and gas hub of Canada, and with her husband working in the industry, she got intrigued by the intricacies of oil and gas production and explorations. She started studying Geology at University of Calgary in 2013. After graduation, Sima started working as a geologist, but she always felt the pull back to dentistry.
To make her dental dream come true, she started applying for dentistry programs in multiple countries. Fortunately, she got accepted to the renowned Bachelor of Dental Science program at University of Queensland in Australia, making the second big move in her life perfectly worth it. During her studies, she worked as a dental assistant and volunteered in multiple practices to gain valuable knowledge from more experienced colleagues. Upon graduation, she joined two skilled dentists, Dr Vincent and Dr Allen, at First Dental Studio and Central Brisbane Dental. She felt fortunate to work with such an amazing team. Also, she has been attending dental study clubs and continuing education courses to keep her knowledge updated and learn from the best in the industry.
